Well here we go folks. Two days ago several websites (mine included) posted a teaser for Alice 2. I wasn’t entirely convinced if was official but it was enough to raise my hopes up. Now American McGee has posted on his website that the teaser is a fake.
Here’s what he said:
“Yesterday, a few sites picked up a video of Alice made by one of our fans and confused it as an official trailer of Alice 2, I wanted to clear up any confusion — as I mentioned in my post it was unofficial, and does not represent any of the final art direction or story elements in Alice 2. We look forward to sharing information on the game in the future.”
The one positive is the last sentence in that post. Let’s get hoping!
I had pretty much given up on this but I guess Tim Burton’s upcoming remake of Alice in Wonderland helped greenlight the project.
Today though we were given the first (official looking) teaser for the sequel to the 200o cult hit. Details are still few but we know the game is supposed to hit in 2011 and it looks like it will be based on Through the Looking Glass, the sequel to the original book by Lewis Carroll.
The look is very different with a sort of stop-motion feel to it and we don’t know much about the sound. I really hope Chris Vrenna returns for the soundtrack because Alice’s is still one of my all time favorite. The voice of the Cheshire Cat doesn’t sound the same but I really hope it is because, again, Alice had some of the best voice work ever made in a game.
Anyway enjoy the teaser and cross fingers!
SEGA unveiled their new AvP game with a few screenshots and a nice little teaser. From what we can see so far the game is coming along really well. I really like the stylized art of the screens and the teaser sets the mood nicely.
The game is developed by Rebellion who worked on the orignal Alien Vs. Predator game in 1999. It will apparently be part of a series of Alien-based titles that SEGA bought the rights to from 20th Century Fox.
You will be able to play through three seperate campaigns for the Space Marine, Alien and Predator which will interconnect. There will also be a 3-way multiplayer mode to slay each other to our hearts content.
The game is set to release on PS3, 360 and PC in early 2010.
Obama Speaks to Gamers
With the elections less than three weeks away (thank God!) Barack Obama is branching out and putting ads in no more than EA 18 games!
Gamers first spotted the ads in Burnout Paradise but it has since been confirmed that they also bought media space in Madden 09, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, Skate and more.
EA has stated that they do not endorse either candidates and that its ad firm, Massive, even contacted the McCain campaign which passed on the deal.
Toshinden Is Back!
One the PSX first title and one of the first 3D fighting game, Battle Arena Toshinden slipped quietly into oblivion and has not been heard since… until this week.
Famitsu announced in their latest issue that the game will come back on the Wii. Not many details have been released aside from the magazine scans but the chara design looks very different.
We’ll wait eagerly for more info.
BioShock 2 Name and Teaser
Last year’s most immersive FPS was a huge succes and it was no stretch of the imagination to think that 2K Games was working on a sequel. Well players who bought the PS3 version of the game and finished it unlocked a nice little extra, namely the first teaser for BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams.
There is debate on the web as to whether the game is a prequel or a sequel but I’m sure the developers will give us an answer soon enough.
