Don’t Hate the Game, Hate the Player

LucasArts Brings Games to Steam!

lucasarts_logoLucasArts is hard at work on their old franchises lately. They are remaking The Secret of Monkey Island and today they announced that a number of their back catalog will be available on Steam.

The first wave will be on July 8 and include 10 titles most notably (for me) The Dig! Amazing adventure game with an amazing ambiance and an amazing soundtrack. It is amazing.

The developers have confirmed that more games will be available in the future. No price has been announced yet.

Here is the list for the first wave:

Armed and Dangerous
Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure
Lego Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures
Loom
Star Wars Battlefront II
Star Wars Republic Commando
Star Wars Starfighter

inFAMOUS Vs. [Prototype] With Bras!

infamous_prototypeIf there’s one thing that the Internet has given us the opportunity it is to voice our opinions easily. It also allowed budding journalist (or people just wanting to rant) the opportunity to make video game reviews for the masses.

Most are forgettable but there are a few that stand out in there own right. One such man is Yahtzee, a crazy Brit (dare I say Rostbeef!) who lives in Australia and makes review in a very original way.
The appropriately called Zero Punctuation reviews are delivered at a rapid pace with no pauses whatsoever. They are also accompanied by some very nice simple animations to animate the video.

But I digress, we all know the big debate about which is the best game. inFAMOUS and [Prototype] came out very close to each other and both feature a sprawling open-box city with a hero who suddenly gains powers and must seek answers. There are obviously some differences but the similarities are also numerous and so it has spawned numerous debates, battles, wars…

Yahtzee reviewed both games and after his second reviews decided that the best game would be decided by getting a picture of the opposite team’s hero in a bra (drawn by the developers). Obviously this was a joke and no one expected much but Sucker Punch and Radical obliged, much to their credit.

Here are the results. Personally I prefer the inFAMOUS one made by Radical, it is more risky and really gives a good Drag Queen vibe. But Ben decided he prefered the other one, and to each his own obvisouly, so Sucker Punch won the contest and inFAMOUS was declared the better game!

Congratulations to Ben for his fun reviews and props to both developers for getting in on the joke and proving they are good sports.

Star Wars: The Old Republic – Timeline Trailer #3

700px-Star_Wars_The_Old_Republic_first_logo

If any of you is either interested by the prospect of The Old Republic, or just a Star Wars fan, chances are you would enjoy these timeline trailers.

They are narrated to perfection by actor Lance Henriksen (Bishop from Aliens) and give you a nifty background story to the events leading up to the game. I would suggest you check out the previous trailer as there is a continuity to the story.
You can find on the official website and also on GameTrailers, Youtube and probably a bunch of other places.

Right now enjoy the rise of Mandalore!
